Let's meet in Jerusalem

We will make a map out of the neighbourhood where the pupils live of each school. We will count the pupils ways to go to school and write that at the maps. Each day for some months the pupils will make a summary in each class of how far they have been walking together and write that in a document. In the end of every week both schools make a summary of how far the school has been walking and mark how far the pupils have walked/biked on a world map. The techers have a great oppurtunity to talk about human rights in the countries along the way. The way from both schools shall lead to Israel and Jerusalem. We will set out a date for “Let us meet in Jerusalem” and that day hopefully both schools have “reached” Jerusalem. That day we will have a party in both schools. In Kenya the pupils will have buns and lemonade. In Sweden the pupils will have mandazi and Kenyan tea. Every class will get a diploma to put in their class room which says “We met in Jerusalem – Living word primary school in Mikindani and Betelschool on Hönö”.
